I had a similar experience with Annie Dillard's work. "Formidable" -- yes. I've also had that experience with other writers, and it has taken a long time to give myself a chance, space and perhaps permission from that ever-present internal editor, to grow as a writer.

Your own craft as a writer, by the way, is exquisite. I am enjoying exploring.

You write with equal honesty and depth of Annie Dillard. A writing teacher once said, "The most important thing any writer can ever do is to fall in love with their words." Your words feel loved. Genece
